Full Time / Seasonal – Spring & Summer 2023

Reports to: Director of Operations

Purpose and Scope: The purpose of this position is to be responsible for supervising and assisting Tent and Rental Installation Crews. Ideal candidate must possess: the ability to direct and assist the training and development of subordinates; experience with negotiation and conflict resolution; experience with project management (including planning, budgeting, and cost management); experience working in a customer-facing role. The Tent Installation Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates activities pertaining to the installation, dismantle, and maintenance of assigned projects in accordance with company policies. Responsible for establishing an atmosphere that promotes customer service and teamwork and supports the goals of the organization.

Essential job functions:

  • Communicate directly with customers, vendors, installation crews, and Creedon and Co leadership to ensure completed projects within the budgeted costs and time requirements
  • Assist in securing necessary permits and licenses as required
  • Observe “on site” staff performance and adherence to safety standards through regular visits to job sites and hold accountable all installers executing work procedures
  • Need to be able to understand and prioritize problems and implement effective solutions
  • Direct, promote, and coordinate the operations of the company in a manner that will optimize its performance and efficiency
  • Regularly communicate with supervisors and installation teams regarding details and last-minute job changes
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, including worker complaints and grievances
  • Independently source specific customized materials for proposed projects
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in a safe condition for operation

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Basic math skills
  • This position requires a valid Massachusetts drivers license and clean driving history
  • Travel at least 25% of time (overnight travel may be required a few times per year)

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
Must stand for extended periods. Most work will be outdoors in all weather conditions, in which some work areas may not be heated or air-conditioned. This job requires constant interaction with co-workers and with the public. This position requires frequent driving, lifting and a significant degree of walking, bending, and transporting objects of various weights and dimensions. May have exposure to chemicals including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and cleaning solvents. Propane is an obvious hazard, therefore a sense of smell is required.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer and respond to telephone, email, website, and in-person inquiries for catered functions and tent & rental equipment orders by preparing and presenting proposals and customized menus. Serve as the company’s primary point of contact for customers from initial inquiry through the completion of the event.
  • Monitor, follow up on, and cultivate catering proposals, quotes, and recurring (e.g. annual) events to book and finalize them into orders. As events approach, verify all event details with customers including but not limited to menu items, equipment items, delivery location, delivery and pickup times, payment terms, and any special details and instructions.
  • Become proficient with CaterEase, PartyTrack, and PartyCad software to provide customers with proposals and event plans including physical layouts. Perform on-site consultations when necessary to develop event plans.
  • Ensure that function proposals and contracts are signed on a timely basis, and that the customer is aware of and complies with payment terms and conditions.
  • Contribute as a team player in conjunction with the catering staff, tent & equipment staff, and office staff. This includes assisting co-workers with any tasks that arise to deliver top-notch results to our customers. Perform other duties as requested and fill in for other positions, when necessary, for smooth operation of the business.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form. Comply with government and industry health and safety requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Monday through Friday business hours role
  • Interest and passion for event coordination and stellar customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Ability to work efficiently and multitask to meet deadlines in sometimes hectic environment
  • Professional personal appearance; attention to detail; cheerful, can-do attitude at all times
  • Non-smokers only
